First Field Trips

Mackenzie and Cameron have had fall field trips with their schools. Cameron went to Gull Meadow Farms where we go every year with Papa and GG. But he was able to go with his friends and teacher and he had a ball. Running around playing with his friends was great to see! Plus warm, fresh donuts and apple cider! The kids picked 2 bushels of apples and had them in class for a week. They had them for snack time and they have them out at the end of the day to each student and the people that picked them up.

And this was 5 minutes into our ride home!

Mackenzie had her field trip the week after Cameron did. Mackenzie's class went to Harvest Moon Acres in Gobles. We had never been to this one but she had a blast! She told me I couldn't go so I don't have all of the details of her trip, or really anything about her trip that she had fun.

Finally, today is grandparents day at Cameron's preschool and he is so excited. We asked Marty's mom to come for it since she's the only grandparent that isn't at work during the day. He tried to tell me his school started 30 minutes before it really does so he could get there and "start grandparents day now!" I can't wait to hear how it goes when I pick him up!

St. Ignace Truck Show

So I'm not the one that's totally into big, huge semi trucks. However, I am totally into spending a kid free weekend with miss you husband and I could care less what else I'm looking at.

Last weekend Marty and I venture to Mackinac City and St. Ignace for the weekend for a truck show. And surprisingly, I quite enjoyed it. We probably walked 15 miles in 2 days but it was so relaxing without the kids. We almost never get an entire weekend without them.

Other than the trucks we did a little sight seeing as well. We checked out the mystery spot. An area about 300 yards in diameter that is just weird. But it is very cool. I also went on their zip lines which was the best part. We also went to castle rock, which is just another lookout but you can see around you almost 360*.

Of course we saw a ton of trucks. Marty liked most of them. I found one that was very cool. I think the inside was the best part and I didn't get any pictures of that.

They also did a "parade of lights" that night so this is that same truck during the parade.

The parade goes from St. Ignace, over the Mackinac bridge, around Mackinac City and back over the bridge to St. Ignace. We watched in St. Ignace then we're going back for dinner and caught the end of it getting off the bridge and the middle to the end getting back on to go over. Marty was like a kid in a candy store when that happened. I just really had to pee 😕

Either way, we had a great weekend spending time together. And to finish, a picture of miss you favorite trailer in the show and a couple of the bridge.

New Fall Happenings

Fall has begun in out house. We have so many new activities going in this year and you just know that summer is over. I am liking this time of year more and more all the time, but I have never been sooo busy.

Last week marked the beginning if the dance year. Both kids are dancing this year. Boys dance free at the dance studio we go to and Cameron wanted to dance, so why not.

This week the fair is in town so we decided to go Saturday afternoon. The kids had a blast and we even got Marty to ride a couple rides this year!
They wanted to get their faces painted and we let them choose. Mackenzie loved hers. Cameron chose a gargoyle and I think he was very unsure when he saw his face. By the end of the day, he loved his face paint!

Monday was the first day of school for Mackenzie. She goes to preschool Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for half day. She gets to eat lunch at school Mondays and Wednesdays. And of course she loves it!

We didn't plan on Cameron going to school but we have been given to opportunity for him to attend the church preschool tuition free! So he goes Tuesdays and Thursday 8:30-11:30. Today was his first day and he also loves it! His teacher said you can't even tell he's the new kid, it's like he's been there the whole time!

I also started new classes last week. A full load of quite boring classes. But I need them so...

On my way to pick up the kids after school last night I hit a mattress and box spring on the highway. I got stuck :( amazingly enough though, no damage to my car or injuries!!! God was watching for sure. And my amazing husband came to help me get unstuck. No tow truck needed! But my adrenaline was pumping like crazy. By the time I was half way to the babysitters house I was ready to just crawl in bed. I'm still exhausted today.
I had to take pics just in case for the insurance company, so here it is. My back tired were completely off the road, that mattress was so wedged in there.

I can't wait for tomorrow. Marty has the whole Friday and weekend off!! After Mackenzie gets out of school, they're spending the weekend with Grandma and Marty and I are going to a truck show in St. Ignace. It has been years since we've gone out of town together when he wasn't working, just the 2 of us. It's going to be a huge difference but I think it's much needed. Can't wait!

So many new things!

We've been so busy with life that I haven't posted in almost 2 months!

I had my 28th birthday! Marty, Mackenzie and I went to have hibachi and sushi for my birthday dinner! Cameron had "boys day" with his grandma that night.

On my actual birthday, Marty had to work. The kids and I spent a couple hours at the children's museum. They had a blast! Then we went to the fabric store!

Family from Kentucky came into town for a few days. The kids had a blast and it was just a good time getting to visit with everyone. The kids played like crazy but I didn't get any pics of Mackenzie, Cameron and Ainsley together :( But they really did okay together. We all also took a trip to the Air Zoo together.

While family was in town my sister and Brian announced their engagement! And Courtney asked Taylor, Danielle and I to be bridesmaids!

Finally, I've been busy with class, exams, getting myself ready for the fall school semester, getting Mackenzie ready to start preschool, and studying for my professional readiness teaching exam that I have to take in October. And Marty and I are planning a short trip to St, Ignace, just across the bridge and to Mackinac Island for a weekend in September. There's a huge truck show going on up there that he's been wanting to go to for a few years now. We decided to make it a "date" trip since we almost never get to do that! I can't wait!
